Fortunately it is not an expensive or difficult job to keep your air-con working and keeping you cool in the hot summer months and for help defrosting your windscreen in the winter months.
What is re-gassing?
Air-con re-gassing is removing the old refrigerated gas from the air conditioning system and replacing it with new refrigerant, so the air con can run cold again.
How do you know when your air-con needs re-gassing?
The first sign that your air-con needs re-gassing is the air blown from out your vents is not as cool as it used to be, or doesn't feel any different when the AC is switched off.
How often should you get your air-con needs re-gassed? When should it be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend you service your cars air-con system every 2 years, however most people wait until it stops blowing out cold air.
What happens if I do not regas my air-con system?
If you do not regas the air-con system, overtime it will become less efficient making the vehicle uncomfortable in hot weather and can take longer to demist the windows in winter.
Not re-gassing your air-con system could cause problems in the long run, pipes can crack and parts are likely to seize up if it is not used.
